Artist Statements & Bios
Circo de Poesia, a beatiful name and a gorgeous metaphor all by itself, would be nothing if we wouldn’t count on the people who have chosen to make this endeavor one of their life’s priorities. We’re honored that so many incredily busy & talented local artists have still managed to find the time to be involved in CDP’s X Anniversary production.
Below in alphabetical order, the many generous souls whose spirits and hearts have branded this production and whom are hereby granted by Xeus himself, unimpeded entrance into the Tenth (X) Dimension…
Cast & Production In Alphabetical Order
Alberto Gieco: Stage Manager & Production Logistics
Alberto Gieco was born and raised in the Argentinean countryside, from where he could only dream of exploring the world. Early on he was involved inliterature and film, then moved to Brazil and later to California where he worked on many feature films. In recent years he has been a high school teacher in South Central LA, communicating his love of life and culture. A great collaborator under stressful situations, Alberto thrives in complex production environments and his generosity & willingness make him both a light partner and a rock solid collaborator.
Alicia Villa: Executive Producer, Clown Performer, Mandala Presenter
A pillar and organizer of CDP since its inception in 1998, Alicia Villa continues as one of its two executive producers to this date. With an entertainer background stretching over 20 years both here in LA and in Buenos Aires, she continually uses her crowd skills to glue both participants and collaborators. Alicia is also a poet, musician, performer, professional clown as well as a Spanish Language Arts Teacher for children and adults. She was born in Buenos Aires Argentina and moved to the States in 1990.
Amelia Moore: Photography (for interactive Installation: A New Way Of Juggling)
Amelia Moore is a human being, a woman, not like any other human being so much as she is like herself. I could invent incidents, appearances, additions to her character, background, surroundings, future, which might well point up and indicate and clinch things relevant to her which in fact I am sure are true, and important, and which Amelia Moore unchanged and undecorated would not indicate and perhaps could not even suggest. The result, if I was lucky, could be a work of art. But somehow a much more important, and dignified, and true fact about her than I am, is the fact that she is exactly, down to the last inch and instant, who what, where, when and why she is. She is in those terms, right now, in flesh and blood and breathing, in an actual part of a world in which also, quite as irrelevant to imagination, you and I are living. Granted that besides that fact it is a small thing, and granted also that it is essentially and finally a hopeless one, to try merely to reproduce and communicate her living as nearly exactly as possible
Ana Marini-Genzon: Installation Artist, Born in B.A. Argentina. Resides in Venice, CA.
My art is about people and the way they experience their lives. I intend for my artwork to reflect emotions and thoughts. While creating sculptures and paintings, I try to suggest a story, not only of the moment but also of an entire life. Not only of what we can see, but what is invisible to the eyes. Art is always a mirror. That is why it is so powerful. It speaks not only about my subject, but also speaks about my perceptions. In the process of expressing the mood of the subject’s substance, I constantly go deep inside myself searching for answers about humanb relations in this fast and ever changing world.Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Resides in Venice California. http://www.amgart.com
Andres Raab: Associate Producer, Engineer, Xeus… Cirque Divinity from X Dimension
His career since arriving in LA (especially within CDP ranks) has skyrocketed. Having started as audience, he soon graduated to Bishop and today, he’s nothing less than a full blown cirque -yes, in French- divinity. Cirque Divinity for you mister. Keeping our circus reputation intact, he also acts -in the absence of mortals his height-as our resident circus giant. To be in a circus is a joy, to be surrounded by such gentle giant is an honor.
Arnaud Damasceno: Beast Tamer, Production, X Logo Design
Brazilian artist born in France whose beliefs are (right at this moment):
- the only things one keeps at the end of life are the happy moments shared with friends & loved ones.
- the most precious thing is a heartfelt smile. Any means to properly elicit the contraction of the zygomatic muscles deserve attention.
- one should therefore do more of the things one enjoys. LIVE, LOVE, & sleep well.
I try to live by these golden rules
Claudia Trasvina: Associate Producer, Stage Manager, Clown, POTT Co-Producer, Architect
A quiet tour de force she motors thru no’s and soon turns them into yes’s with plenty of grace to spare. A hard, meticulous &methodic worker, she often rescues what at first seemed to be lost causes & disenchanted fairies and brings them both back to the nest, where they all belong. An incredibly well tempered human being, she acts as a ballast for the rocky ship that sometimes CDP can be.

“In her art she intends to reveal through human shapes, the ‘shapes’ of the human soul. Simplicity. richness, darkness, enlightment & mystery. The Mystery.
Nicholas Bowrin
Nora Artine: Gourmet Artist
“I’ve always been fascinated with and intrigued by observing, perceiving, feeling, and living the world around me. Of course, as a human being, the senses have so much to do with this. What better way to engage in the drama of sight, touch, smell, hearing, and taste than with food. Eat up and remember the thrill that life can offer us!”
Peyman Majd: Meister Spinster aka Blackhole
Black Hole, born exactly a century after Albert Einstein. This incident led him to become interested in space and finally led him to study Aerospace Engineering. He has been raised in a home where music was ever present & inter-mixed with their souls. His passion for music goes way back to his early childhood when he had to listen to piano in order to be able to fall asleep. After playing different instuments in his teens, he became a huge fan of electronic music. Black Hole’s first album was inspired by the unique sounds of his brother’s percussion and it’s titled:”GOD Seeker”. His passion for music led him to play in many events and outdoor gatherings. One of his goals in his current spiritual journey is to share his energy and uplifting music with LOVE seekers.
Samantha Miller: Associate Producer, Movement Coach, Clown Performer, Musician,
Samantha Miller is enthusiastic about being a veteran 4th grade public school teacher at an innovative language immersion school and continues to explore ways to incorporate music and movement into her curriculum.
Sergio Martinez: Executive Producer, Ring Master, Surrealist Games Conductor
One of CDP’s current Executive Producers, Sergio has been living and loving life in LA for over 20 years after leaving his native Leon, Guanajuato. A city of performers, LA suits him as loose and comfy as a pair of clown shoes. He’s also a journalist and teacher.
Silvia Askenazi
Stella Sosa; Mama Pacha, The Queen of Fire, Maecenas
Every nomadic clan deserves its own Mama Pacha. From day one, she’s been the inspiration and one of the master aglutinators in this tribe. In her lap, we’ve all found a safe meeting spot and a space devoid of judgement. We’re still learning from her every day.
Tanzar X
Veronica Vainstoc: Mandala Temple Producer, Mandala Garments Designer, Knot Fairy, Goddess
In charge of God’s yarn barn, she knits away at ungodly hours of the day and night for your and my pupil’s sheer pleasure. A master composer of the musicality of colors, fabrics & textures, her hand-knit symphonies rival Carnegie Hall concierto pieces. Quiet, introspective but genuinely present and involved, her indelible art has decorated CDP’s events from day one.
